Goodbye Oral Roberts

The passing of Oral Roberts I believe is part of a move to prepare the body of Christ for the next move of God.  I remember as a youngester that I was very skeptical of Dr. Roberts and many people I surrounded myself at that time in my life felt the same way.  I still recall the time when Oral stated that God would take him home if he didn't get the right amount of money that he needed for Oral Roberts University.  I thought that was quite strange and maybe some of Oral's methods didn't make sense, but is that not the way God does some things?  I know the kingdom of God does things in a way that is totally opposite of how the world wants things done.  An example from the Bible is where it states the following, "Give and it shall be given unto you."  The world tells us to hold unto everything that we have and not to let anything go.  Not God.  So maybe some of the things Oral did that seemed strange to some of us was just God's way of breaking through a mindset that we had not only toward Oral Roberts, but toward God.
I believe that God is wanting to bring a greater move of signs and wonders into the earth and the mantle that was upon Oral will be passed on to more people than was raised up in his own generation.  A couple of years ago I heard the prophet Kim Clement mention that Oral's passing would ignite this move and I fully expect it to be the case.  Over the years I have grown to appreicate Oral Roberts and have been challenged by the way he lived his life by faith.  Oral, you will be missed, but not forgotton.  For more on Oral here is an article that you might find interesting.

Hollywood's Idea of Commitment

Recently I was reading an article by James Hirsen which describes Angelina Jolie's idea of committment to her live in boyfriend Brad Pitt.  Angelina said the following, "“I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” the actress told Germany's Das Neue Blatt magazine. “It's worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.”  This appears to be the mentality of many who have attained a status of high recognition in our society.  Statistics show that more and more young people believe that marriage is not an important facet of having a relationship.  I have encountered many a person in my lifetime who believe that one needs to have a "test drive" to make sure that the person they are with is someone they want to commit to.

The God of the universe is the one who came up with the idea of marriage in the first place.  God intended that this relationship should be based on commitment between a man and woman with God being the center of their relationship.  The world teaches that one should only be committed to someone if it works toward your advantage, otherwise don't commit.  The vows one takes while they are getting married says it all.  "In sickness and in health, better or worse, richer and or poorer".  When one says this vow they are making a commitment to their spouse which is meant to last throughout the years they are together.  Young people when you are in a relationship with someone you are thinking about commiting to remember that you are entering a relationship that is meant to last.  God commited to us when he died on a cross for our sins can't we commit to one another ?

Their is a Devil Loose!

This past week we have seen an officer of the Salvation Army gunned down on Christmas Eve over money that his group had collected for those in need.  What is the world coming to?  Well it should not surprise us that the enemy is out trying to kill, steal and destroy because that is the devil's way of operation.  The world we live in is in a struggle between good and evil.  The devil is not in hell as some people would believe.  He still is the prince of the power of the air and the god of this world.  However, there is good news.  The Church of Jesus Christ has been given the authority through Jesus Christ to resist and to bind the enemy of men's souls.  The bible declares that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.  Now if only we would truly believe that we are the ones who have the authority and begin to use the name of Jesus as our badge of authority the enemy would have no place to be able to use his power.  Church study out the book of Ephesians and see what God has to say about who you are.  If you can grasp the revelation that God gives here the deceiever will no longer be able to run about undercover, he will be exposed!

Is Sarah Palin the Esther of our Generation?

When one listens to the media no matter where one is located at we here how Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is a threat to the nation at large.  Could it be that the threat she poses is not one to the nation per say, but one that threatens liberal views on how the world should be.  I tend to believe that it is liberals who are threatened by a person such as Sarah.  The everyday common man loves her and this fact has been proven by the large crowds that come out to hear her speak and the fact that her new book "Going Rogue" is a number one bestseller on the NY Times book list.

I believe Sarah Palin has connected with the American people in a way that no one has since Ronald Reagan was president.  As I prayed and sought the Lord about Sarah and her place in this time I truly felt that He spoke to me that Sarah Palin is an Esther for our generation and for this nation at large.  Esther came to power in Babylon when the Jewish people needed a defender and deliverer.  I believe that Sarah Palin has been raised up for the same purpose for our nation.  Will she be the next president?  That I can't answer.  But I do believe that Sarah Palin is not going to fade into the darkness anytime soon.  I truly believe she will have impact on the upcoming election cycle in 2010 and the one to come in 2012.  Time will tell.

What is the Church of Jesus Christ standing for?

Recently Pastor Rick Warren decided that opposing gay marriage was not the right decision nearly six months after he said to his church congregation that the church must stand on Bible principles. This change of heart by Pastor Warren has damaged the Church in America because it sends out a mixed message. I pray that Pastor Warren will repent and realize the error of his way on this recent statement, but I can't stand with him on this one.

Christ spoke in the word of God that we must acknowledge Him before men or He will deny us before the Father God. I encourage those who are called believers in Christ to stand for the word of the Lord. I can think of story after story of men and women from the Bible who have willingly stood for the word of the Lord, despite the fact that it was not popular. People like Daniel, Noah come to mind.

Why is our nation not coming to the house of the Lord? Could it be that since we are sending confusing signals that the world does not pay attention to us because they find us irrelevant. The gay movement continues to gain ground despite the fact they are a minority because they stay focused on what they are out to get done. If the Church of the Living God can do the same we will see the nation turn.

Church we are in a war. We can't stand by and do nothing. We must take up our cross and the armour of God and follow our King into battle. The victory already belongs to us, we must go forth and enforce it.

Should we be concerned with the War of Terror?

Should we be concerned with the war on terror? Is it time to move on and extent a hand of friendship to those who only want to destroy us? Most Muslims are not out to bring harm to America, but those who are true radicals do want to destroy America and the western world.

I believe that we must continue to take the fight to the terrorists where ever they are at. The terrorists have been fighting the USA since the Iranian revolution of 1979 so we have been at war with them for the past 30 years. This battle is not over territory, but it is a battle for the soul of the world. The radical Muslims want to control the world and either convert or kill all those who oppose their way of life. The American dream is for everyone to have the choice to live life as they see fit and without hindrance. Radical Muslims want us to live as if the world was nearly 1200 years ago. There is no freedom and you must do as your told.

The radicals are looking to acquire nuclear weapons and use them to either destroy us and or hold us hostage. We must continue to use any and all methods that are available to us to stop each and every potential threat. I believe that we can and will win this battle if we don't lose heart. For the American way is a superior way of life and carries within it the desire of every heart that is a live at this time, that being the cry of freedom. Let us not forget the cost of freedom and may we continue to carry its torch which brings life to all.

Leadership

When it comes to properly leading what qualities does it take to be a leader? Most people I talk with do not feel that they are capable of leading. Most have a fear of leadership and rather be a follower. Leadership is not easy. Leaders have to be willing to take risks and that means they may not be well received on many of the decisions they are making.

If I look at how leadership is played out in the Bible versus that which the world system wants it to be done, you will discover that there are so major differences. One is that the Bible asks that a leader is not above the ones he is leading. Christ exhibited this behavior when He washed the disciples feet. True leadership from the Bible will move the leader to look for ways to build up and motivate those that he is leading so that they may become the leaders that they were meant to be.

The world system will tell the leader that he must protect his position for fear that they will lose it to someone more qualified than themselves. The Bible exhibits that for true freedom to exist one must be willing to surrender everything one has so that those one is leading will be able to eventually do the same. Leadership is something every person has the ability to do because everyone is born to lead, as the Bible teaches. The world will says that not everyone has the ability to lead, but that some people are specially gifted to do this, and thus they will become the leaders. What is stopping you from leading? Is it your attitude or a fear of the unknown? I challenge you to launch out and give it a try. You may be surprised at what may occur.
