Hollywood's Idea of Commitment

Recently I was reading an article by James Hirsen which describes Angelina Jolie's idea of committment to her live in boyfriend Brad Pitt.  Angelina said the following, "“I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” the actress told Germany's Das Neue Blatt magazine. “It's worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.”  This appears to be the mentality of many who have attained a status of high recognition in our society.  Statistics show that more and more young people believe that marriage is not an important facet of having a relationship.  I have encountered many a person in my lifetime who believe that one needs to have a "test drive" to make sure that the person they are with is someone they want to commit to.

The God of the universe is the one who came up with the idea of marriage in the first place.  God intended that this relationship should be based on commitment between a man and woman with God being the center of their relationship.  The world teaches that one should only be committed to someone if it works toward your advantage, otherwise don't commit.  The vows one takes while they are getting married says it all.  "In sickness and in health, better or worse, richer and or poorer".  When one says this vow they are making a commitment to their spouse which is meant to last throughout the years they are together.  Young people when you are in a relationship with someone you are thinking about commiting to remember that you are entering a relationship that is meant to last.  God commited to us when he died on a cross for our sins can't we commit to one another ?

Their is a Devil Loose!

This past week we have seen an officer of the Salvation Army gunned down on Christmas Eve over money that his group had collected for those in need.  What is the world coming to?  Well it should not surprise us that the enemy is out trying to kill, steal and destroy because that is the devil's way of operation.  The world we live in is in a struggle between good and evil.  The devil is not in hell as some people would believe.  He still is the prince of the power of the air and the god of this world.  However, there is good news.  The Church of Jesus Christ has been given the authority through Jesus Christ to resist and to bind the enemy of men's souls.  The bible declares that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.  Now if only we would truly believe that we are the ones who have the authority and begin to use the name of Jesus as our badge of authority the enemy would have no place to be able to use his power.  Church study out the book of Ephesians and see what God has to say about who you are.  If you can grasp the revelation that God gives here the deceiever will no longer be able to run about undercover, he will be exposed!

Is Sarah Palin the Esther of our Generation?

When one listens to the media no matter where one is located at we here how Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is a threat to the nation at large.  Could it be that the threat she poses is not one to the nation per say, but one that threatens liberal views on how the world should be.  I tend to believe that it is liberals who are threatened by a person such as Sarah.  The everyday common man loves her and this fact has been proven by the large crowds that come out to hear her speak and the fact that her new book "Going Rogue" is a number one bestseller on the NY Times book list.

I believe Sarah Palin has connected with the American people in a way that no one has since Ronald Reagan was president.  As I prayed and sought the Lord about Sarah and her place in this time I truly felt that He spoke to me that Sarah Palin is an Esther for our generation and for this nation at large.  Esther came to power in Babylon when the Jewish people needed a defender and deliverer.  I believe that Sarah Palin has been raised up for the same purpose for our nation.  Will she be the next president?  That I can't answer.  But I do believe that Sarah Palin is not going to fade into the darkness anytime soon.  I truly believe she will have impact on the upcoming election cycle in 2010 and the one to come in 2012.  Time will tell.

What is the Church of Jesus Christ standing for?

Recently Pastor Rick Warren decided that opposing gay marriage was not the right decision nearly six months after he said to his church congregation that the church must stand on Bible principles. This change of heart by Pastor Warren has damaged the Church in America because it sends out a mixed message. I pray that Pastor Warren will repent and realize the error of his way on this recent statement, but I can't stand with him on this one.

Christ spoke in the word of God that we must acknowledge Him before men or He will deny us before the Father God. I encourage those who are called believers in Christ to stand for the word of the Lord. I can think of story after story of men and women from the Bible who have willingly stood for the word of the Lord, despite the fact that it was not popular. People like Daniel, Noah come to mind.

Why is our nation not coming to the house of the Lord? Could it be that since we are sending confusing signals that the world does not pay attention to us because they find us irrelevant. The gay movement continues to gain ground despite the fact they are a minority because they stay focused on what they are out to get done. If the Church of the Living God can do the same we will see the nation turn.

Church we are in a war. We can't stand by and do nothing. We must take up our cross and the armour of God and follow our King into battle. The victory already belongs to us, we must go forth and enforce it.

Should we be concerned with the War of Terror?

Should we be concerned with the war on terror? Is it time to move on and extent a hand of friendship to those who only want to destroy us? Most Muslims are not out to bring harm to America, but those who are true radicals do want to destroy America and the western world.

I believe that we must continue to take the fight to the terrorists where ever they are at. The terrorists have been fighting the USA since the Iranian revolution of 1979 so we have been at war with them for the past 30 years. This battle is not over territory, but it is a battle for the soul of the world. The radical Muslims want to control the world and either convert or kill all those who oppose their way of life. The American dream is for everyone to have the choice to live life as they see fit and without hindrance. Radical Muslims want us to live as if the world was nearly 1200 years ago. There is no freedom and you must do as your told.

The radicals are looking to acquire nuclear weapons and use them to either destroy us and or hold us hostage. We must continue to use any and all methods that are available to us to stop each and every potential threat. I believe that we can and will win this battle if we don't lose heart. For the American way is a superior way of life and carries within it the desire of every heart that is a live at this time, that being the cry of freedom. Let us not forget the cost of freedom and may we continue to carry its torch which brings life to all.

Leadership

When it comes to properly leading what qualities does it take to be a leader? Most people I talk with do not feel that they are capable of leading. Most have a fear of leadership and rather be a follower. Leadership is not easy. Leaders have to be willing to take risks and that means they may not be well received on many of the decisions they are making.

If I look at how leadership is played out in the Bible versus that which the world system wants it to be done, you will discover that there are so major differences. One is that the Bible asks that a leader is not above the ones he is leading. Christ exhibited this behavior when He washed the disciples feet. True leadership from the Bible will move the leader to look for ways to build up and motivate those that he is leading so that they may become the leaders that they were meant to be.

The world system will tell the leader that he must protect his position for fear that they will lose it to someone more qualified than themselves. The Bible exhibits that for true freedom to exist one must be willing to surrender everything one has so that those one is leading will be able to eventually do the same. Leadership is something every person has the ability to do because everyone is born to lead, as the Bible teaches. The world will says that not everyone has the ability to lead, but that some people are specially gifted to do this, and thus they will become the leaders. What is stopping you from leading? Is it your attitude or a fear of the unknown? I challenge you to launch out and give it a try. You may be surprised at what may occur.

The battle between Evolution and Creationism Heats Up

During this past week the birthday of Darwin was celebrated and it drew attention to the creation evolution debate as a result. My own personal journey on this as changed over the years as I have considered what science and the Bible have to say about the topic of how did we come to be.

After making Jesus Christ my personal savior and Lord of my life I had a most difficult time understanding how science and the Bible could co-exist. I was someone who thought that evolution and creationism could be the one and the same. However that began to change when a friend of mine named Keith was able to give me some creation material from a group called ICR( International Creation Research). The material spoke from a scientific point of view, but was using the Bible as it basis. It was through this time that I began to change my thinking to the place where I believed that creationism and a young earth theory is the correct one.

I know that many Christians out there are confused by this topic and have many questions that plague their thoughts as this topic once again comes to the forefront. I believe that it is the time for Christians to stand up and not back down off of what we believe. The article that I have linked to at the bottom of this post shows how Christians are fighting back. If we are wanting to change our society and the culture we live in, we must engage it at the foundation. The foundation of our culture belief in truth has been wrecked by this attack by the religion of Evolution. People are confused about topics like marriage, life issues like abortion and euthanasia. This is because our belief in absolute truth has been damaged. The christian has the truth, because Jesus Himself declared himself to be it (John 14:6). It is time for us to speak out and demonstrate to the world why He, Christ, is the only way. Church don't sit on the sidelines any longer. Let us be salt and light in a world that needs it more than ever.

Will you be put on trial for Faith?

Will you be put on trial for faith in God? Recently I read a story on WorldNet Daily that showed how a family from the state of New York had been placed under a huge amount of stress by the public school system that there children were a part of.

The issue being raised was the fact that the couples children had not been immunized as the state requires. The parents, who have a devote faith in God, discovered that as soon as this was uncovered by the school found out that everything that they were trying to do in raising their children up in the faith they professed was soon under attack. The question I would like to raise is where does a school system have the right to attack the way a family chooses to raise their children? I can understand the concern for the health of the other children that attend there, but beyond that, I believe the school overstepped its bounds and had no right to pry into this family's way of raising their children.

As we continue to move closer to the end of the age, before the return of Christ, I tend to believe we will see more of this because the enemy of our soul knows is time is short and will continue to put the pressure on those of us who believe. Body of Christ, prepare yourselves now. We are headed for greater glory, but the road there may get a little bumpy. Rest in the Savior. For He is our refuge and our strength, our hope in a time of trouble. God will see us through.

What is so "Fair" about the Fairness Doctrine

Recently there has been renewed talks about bringing the fairness doctrine back into play amongst those in the Democratic controlled Congress. Debra Stabenow a Democratic Senator from the state of Michigan has mentioned that a return to the fairness doctrine is needed so that all viewpoints can get a fair shake on the airwaves.

When the fairness doctrine was in place the conservative viewpoint was nearly extinct. Rush Limbaugh had just come unto the scene, but beyond him, there was no major emphasis on the conservative, family and faith based view. The major newspapers and major Television networks were able to carry whatever they chose to run and the American people were not given any choice but to hear their viewpoint only.

But when Reagan was able to get the fairness doctrine eliminated from the equation the conservative, family and faith based viewpoint took wing and now dominates the radio airwaves. The liberals have tried to counter it with their own radio network, Air America, and it failed miserably. In the marketplace of ideas, the conservative viewpoint will win out in most cases since its view is based in a biblical viewpoint. Truth always prevails amongst those that seek it out.

I believe that the fairness doctrine is anything but fair and will lead to a silencing of the conservative, pro-family, faith based viewpoint that America still needs. After all the NY Times and CBS news are not going to go out there and allow the conservative viewpoint to be there view. They have their own agenda which is not to allow for diverse viewpoints to coexist.

The fight that may soon develop reminds me of how Evolution became the dominant viewpoint of the public school systems and the media over the years. Creationists are told that their viewpoint is out of touch and out dated. Are we about to see the same thing occur with the conservative, pro-family and faith based viewpoint, if the fairness doctrine is allowed to be the law of the land?

I encourage all of my fellow conservatives, who like myself are pro-family and have faith in the God of the Bible to engage Congress on this issue. Our voice must be heard to stand for what is right, true and fair in a society that tries to vilify such behavior.

Is the US Government God for most Americans?

The longer I live in this nation the more convinced I have become of the fact that more Americans are trading in faith in God and in the American dream that is based on biblical principles for government handouts and promises.

The welfare generation that was started by President Franklin Roosevelt in the 1930's continues to grow and prosper and during the current economic downturn more and more Americans are looking to the government as their provider. Where is the God of the Bible in this equation. After all the Bible declares that God is the one who, "supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory". It does take faith to see God provide, but the government has taken that faith that was intended for God and people have placed in government instead.

People have called our current president Barrack Obama, "the Messiah". Now do I believe that he is truly that in this desperate time? No, for what I am seeing here is a similar situation that occurred in Israel's past. During the time of Samuel the children of Israel wanted to have an earthly king over them as was the case for the nations that surrounded Israel at that time. God didn't want to give in to this, but because of their persistence, the Lord gave in to them. When Samuel spoke to God about this the Lord said the following, "they have not rejected you, they have rejected me."

I am seeing this very thing carried out in our nation today. Our country is becoming more socialistic all the time. The move away from God is becoming more obvious and blatant day by day. When this nation was founded, it was founded on the Bible and prayer. Now it is nearly illegal to do any of this activity in a public setting. The church of Jesus Christ must get back to preaching the cross and Kingdom of God. We can't be of the world and expect it to change. For truly all our freedoms come the Lord of Heaven and Earth. Government must be put back into its proper place. The vaccum that the church was filled by the government. Now it is time for us to take it back.

People of God don't be mislead anymore. Let us no longer be like the children of Israel who are crying to go back under Pharoah's rule. Let us truly be free. Let us turn to God and place our faith in Him. For as God led the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, so shall He lead out from under this socialistic bondage if we will only follow after HIM and HIS ways. Go for it church!

Scripture references for additional reading: 1st Samuel 8 ,1st Samuel 9 and the book of Exodus.

Does anyone believe they are responsible?

It is interesting to notice that we as humans do not like to take the blame for anything that we do. It started in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve and the serpent. When God the Father asked Adam who was at fault he turned and said it was Eve's and when God asked Eve she said it was the serpent's.

As I look at our current economic status in this nation and with the talk of bailout and stimulus packages, I don't see anyone owning up to the current crash that has occurred. The Democrats are blaming the Republicans and the Republicans are blaming the Democrats. Big business and the banks are not taking ownership for making improper business decisions, but instead are looking to the Congress and the President for more money to continue, " business as usual."

I believe that those who are responsible for making wrong choices should be held accountable for them and have to pay a price as a result. It is like telling one's child that is OK to go out and eat an entire chocolate cake, which was meant for everyone to enjoy, and then pat them on the back for this behavior, encouraging them to do it again.

Do I want to see businesses fail? No, but I believe in capitalism. And in true capitalism those who are weak will be taken over by those who have positioned themselves well. After all being in business does present risk, and a part of that risk means that you may lose everything you have worked for.

It would truly please me to see business and banking leaders owning up to their mistakes at this time. I would be much more understanding of those who have failed, because of their willingness to be open, real and vulnerable. Will we ever see this? I doubt it, because most people perceive that be "real" portrays weakness. And in are macho based society that would make most feel as though they are nothing but failures. So don't hold your breath on this one America. But continue to check your pocketbook, I feel like someone may be looking to take more than there fair share from you there.

What will the Antichrist Look like?

When one thinks of the Antichrist one thinks of someone who may or may not be of European descent who controls the entire world from a place like Rome and has no problems to deal with other than the judgements that God lays upon him and his followers. But could our western view be such that we are not open to other potential opportunities. I tend to believe that the Antichrist could well be someone who is Arab. Why do I think this?

Years ago I read a book by evangelist Perry Stone speaking on this very topic. Perry made a case that the Antichrist could well come from the Middle East and be an Arab. When one thinks about it this is a strong possibility because the world's history began there. God has a way of bringing things full circle and if you have read the Bible you will see that the final battle waged between the forces of good and evil, God and the devil, takes place in Israel. I believe that the Antichrist will be an Arab individual that will form a peace treaty with the Jews to help lead them into a trap. After all the Arab nations have tried to destroy Israel through war over the years and have not been able to complete the job, so why not change their tactics. The Antichrist is portrayed as a man of peace and the Jews would love to have that peace if someone will offer them something that they can believe in. An Arab Antichrist could do just that and the Jews, who are weary from the fight, will be willing to take it.

Babylon is where the Antichrist will reign from. Today modern day Iraq is that place. I believe that Iraq will become a very strong economic force in the region and will become the place that the Antichrist will be able to rule from in the days a head. The freedom that the Iraq people now enjoy will stimulate economic strength which one day will benefit the forces of darkness. I tend to believe that Muslim extremists will gain control over this nation one day and with help from Iran and its nuclear program and wiliness to use it, will hold much of the world hostage because of the threat it will hold over the world's oil supplies.

The Antichrist will one day take the world stage and the theory that I purpose from the writing of Perry Stone and the word of God, may or may not take place as I have stated here. However, there is one thing I am sure of, and that is this, Christ is coming again for His bride. Get yourself ready church. He is coming and it may be sooner than we think.

For additional information on this topic check out Perry Stone's website.

What does the Bible say about Gay Marriage?

I was reading a recent article that was published by Newsweek and the author was stating that there is biblical proof to support gay marriage. As I read through author Lisa Miller's arguments on this topic I came to see how the world and the devil likes to twist scripture to fit their way of thinking.

One example that the author cites is the fact that King David and Jonathon had a "love that surpasses that of a woman". Many gay individuals try to use this as an example that the Bible has no problem with men being with men or women having sexual relations with other women. Obviously, I do not believe this to be the case, but believe that God used this example to show just how devoted one can be to another person when the Lord is the center of a relationship.

What I found most interesting was the fact that Lisa Miller tried to say that scripture from the Old Testament of the Bible does not apply on this topic anymore. Now how can one go about saying that the Bible says one thing and believe that it is correct, than turn around and say what the Bible says in opposition to a behavior is not applicable anymore? This shows me that the author realizes that there is something not right about the lifestyle and instead of admitting to it, they chose to pick what they like and discard the rest.

The Bible can't be treated that way. The world of God declares in the book of Hebrews that," God is the same yesterday, today, and forever". If God says that a behavior is wrong before the foundation of the world, it is still wrong today. Because God is truth. He can't change His standards. For if He does, He can't be God anymore. The Old testament book of Leviticus and the New Testament book of Romans both speak out against the lifestyle of gays and how God doesn't approve of that particular behavior.

Does this mean that God hates them? No, God and those who are true Bible believers don't wish to see harm come to those who are bound in the gay lifestyle. In fact, we want to see them come out of it and into the light of truth that the Lord has provided for them and for all of mankind. My prayer is that those who are in the gay lifestyle will be set free and come to the knowledge of God's truth, which is based in His love for them. The truth is those who believe they are stuck in the gay lifestyle don't have to remain in that bondage. You can be free. Come to God. He can and will be your hope and deliverer. There is life in HIM. In the ways of the gay lifestyle there is only pain, destruction and death. Choose LIFE.

Why is Pastor Rick Warren supporting a Gay Minister at the inauguration?

Pastor Rick Warren has recently stated that he is glad that President elect Barack Obama is allowing a gay minister to say a prayer during his inauguration. But why would a man of God be so willing to state something like this when the lifestyle represented here by the gay minister contradicts the Bible?

Now I do believe that God calls each one of us to love those who are outside of his kingdom and I tend to believe the reason Rick Warren is saying what he has stated here is to keep the doors open for him to either try and minister to Barack Obama and the Eugene Robinson, the gay minister in question. For I have learned over the years that one can not force one's beliefs unto others. It is like going fishing and instead of baiting the hook and gently luring the fish in, you go about splashing the water all around and then wonder why you can't catch a fish. Obviously I don't know the real reason why Rick Warren has allowed this to occur, but I am hopeful that he is looking at the bigger picture as a way for the message of the gospel of Christ to be preached, not only to Barack Obama and Eugene Robinson, but to many like them who are in need of the Savior of mankind, Jesus Christ.

So member of the body of Christ, continue to stand for what you believe in. Continue to speak out on the moral issues of the day, but remember how you go about presenting yourself and the message you are bringing, because you may not know who is watching, and where it may lead.

Whatever happened to the Free Market?

The more one reads and listens to the news these days the more one begins to wonder why doesn't ever person in America not deserve a bailout economically. We have seen bailouts for the banking industry, the auto industry and now a congressman in Connecticut is proposing a bailout of two local newspapers.

What has happened to the free market? I understand that people can and have made bad choices on who to loan money to and as a result some are facing very tough decisions, which includes closing down places of business. If Congress wants to bailout industries of all types and sorts, what about the average Joe who is trying to make with his mortgage and car payments to be concerned with. Maybe Congress should bail them out to. The newspapers in Connecticut are failing because the competition is kicking their butts. With the expansion of the Internet bringing people news around the clock most newspapers in American are experiencing a huge cut back in readership. This means that the newspaper industry needs to rethink the way they do business and begin to look at alternative ways of presenting themselves to the public. If they can't make it, than they go out of business. After all, that is what a free market economy is all about, right? The same way of reasoning should apply to the auto industry and the banking system. Where is the money coming from to pay for all of this? It doesn't grow on trees.

The American taxpayer is the one who is the loser. The government in my opinion has overstepped her bounds and needs to look at ways of cutting our taxes, not ways of increasing it. I hope that my fellow Americans will join me in opposing these acts of indiscretion. Our future as a nation may depend upon it.
